Today all right minded and responsible people are greatly worried about the growing indiscipline in various fields. Experts say that this is not peculiar to any country or region but appears to be a universal happening. Discipline means complete obedience to rules. A person without discipline is like a car which has gone out of control.He is bound to go away from the right path and ruin his life. Not only is this he also likely to cause harm to others. A child is taught to obey his parents and teachers. When he grows older he is required to obey the orders of his superiors under whom he works. He has also to learn to control his desires and feelings. This self-discipline is the hardest things to learn. But he has to learn it because the well-being of society depends upon him. It will be seen that we cannot achieve success without discipline. No school or college will be able to function if students do not observe the rules of the institution nor will the teachers be able to teach if the pupils do not maintain discipline in the class. In sports too discipline is a must. Every player must obey his captain and carry out his commands whether he likes them or not. Take for example the game of cricket.One can very well imagine what would happen if the players on the field did not obey the commands of their captain. Not only will the team lose the math but will earn disgrace. Many such examples in various fields of life could be mentioned which will show how lack of discipline has contributed to failure and disappointment. It will thus be seen that if there is no discipline life will be difficult. Societies whose members do not follow its rules and maintain discipline soon falls to pieces.
